A Workshop with Charlie Leadbeater hosted by the Australian Social Innovation Exchange (www.asix.org.au)
Join us for a conversation with leading social innovation thinker, writer and practitioner Charlie Leadbeater. Charlie will explore the rapidly changing landscape of social innovation as people and communities bring a growing demand for engagement, participation and collaboration to their interactions with government and public policy.
This unique occasion offers an opportunity to share ideas with a world-renowned thought leader who will explore the shift from solutions designed for the community, to solutions and programs designed by and with the community. In this two-hour workshop, Charlie will present some of his own recent work and experiences from Australia and around the world. He will facilitate a conversation about changing approaches to service design and engagement which inform innovative solutions to many of our most pressing social needs.
Places at this workshop are limited so make sure you register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Charles Leadbeater is a leading authority on innovation and creativity. He has advised companies, cities and governments around the world on innovation strategy and drawn on that experience in writing his latest book We-think: the power of mass creativity, which charts the rise of mass, participative approaches to innovation from science and open source software, to computer games and political campaigning. In his most recent work, Charlie has been looking at innovation in education in complex and difficult situations –”learning from the extremes”. He is also working with Participle, a policy and design group in London he co-founded which is creating new types of public services with a focus on aged care and services for families and young people.
