I have worked in the public sector (human services) for 12 years. My main area of focus has been responding to issues associated with large public housing estates (via a variety of social programs as well as large scale redevelopment). My work has spanned social research, strategic planning, project management and evaluation. I am particularly interested in how the public sector can work collaboratively with individuals, communities and non-government organisations.
I’m a web developer living in New York, the USA, having moved from the Bay Area in 2004. I work in one web application development company that specializes in web and mobile app development.
I have just returned to Australia after working abroad for 4 years and am now putting my energy into building Social Enterprise. The first of these is Cyclefreo (http://www.cyclefreo.com) which is a Bike Sharing social enterprise based in Fremantle, Western Australia.
From working to put together Cyclefreo I have found that there are very few resources available to people who want to start a social business or even anyone who knows what you are talking about. So I am very interested in connecting to people in WA who are interested or active in this field.
